Mining Industry IT recruitment activity drops in North America
According to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database, the mining industry in Canada registered a 10.3% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 as compared to the previous month.

The industry’s overall hiring fell 8.57% in November 2022 compared to October 2022. Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs accounted for a 3.25% share in November 2022. This marks a decrease of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Regarding the number of jobs tracked by GlobalData, the top five companies accounted for a combined average growth of 10.26% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s mining industry during November 2022 over the previous month.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 40.23% in November 2022. This figure represents a 36.36% drop over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next and claimed a share of 20.69% in November 2022. This marks a 48.57% month-on-month decline.
