Resource Mining Corporation (ASX: RMI) is accelerating its exploration efforts at the Kisa Project in Papua New Guinea following promising copper and gold anomalies at its Koriyo and Iliwan prospects. Fieldwork has uncovered mineralized intrusive rocks and skarn-style alteration—early geological indicators of a potential Tier-1 porphyry copper-gold system.
The Perth-based explorer’s progress at Kisa adds momentum to its strategy of targeting underexplored, high-impact mineral systems across Papua New Guinea’s mineral-rich terrain. With detailed soil sampling, mapping, and rock chip assays now complete, the groundwork for geophysics and drilling is underway.
Koriyo Prospect Unveils High-Grade Copper Anomalies
At the Koriyo prospect, Resource Mining has detected multiple soil copper anomalies aligned with magnetic highs and structural corridors—hallmarks of porphyry-style mineralization. Rock chip samples returned standout results, including 3.8% copper (Cu) and 1.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au).
These findings strengthen Koriyo’s position as a compelling exploration target. The magnetic anomalies align with mapped intrusive bodies and lithological contacts, reinforcing the potential for a buried porphyry system.
“The scale and intensity of the anomalies at Koriyo are highly encouraging,” said Managing Director Matthew Boyes. “They indicate significant hydrothermal activity, consistent with large mineralized systems.”

Iliwan Builds Case as a Drill-Ready Target
Exploration at the Iliwan prospect has yielded additional copper-gold indicators. Mapping efforts revealed skarn-style alteration, a mineralogical feature often found on the periphery of porphyry systems. Initial sampling from the area also showed anomalous copper and gold values, adding to its geologic appeal.
With both Koriyo and Iliwan producing positive early-stage results, Resource Mining is developing a more detailed geological model to define priority drill targets. A geophysical survey is slated as the next major milestone in preparation for drilling.

Major operations like Ok Tedi and the Wafi-Golpu project have already demonstrated the country’s potential. With Kisa, Resource Mining is hoping to position itself among these heavyweights by leveraging modern exploration techniques and geological modelling.
