Woodcross Resources uses Minespider platform to track all tin from operations in Uganda

Woodcross Resources, the first integrated tin production company in the Republic of Uganda, is partnering with Minespider, a technology company that provides blockchain-based traceability solutions.

]Under a strategy developed by consulting firm Responsible Trade LLC, which helps build responsible mineral supply chains, Woodcross Resources will integrate Minespider’s technology and track all tin shipments, from mined ore to refined tin exports, to meet the requirements of mining industry regulations and guidelines. , including OECD, ICGLR and RMI/RMAP as well as Ugandan law. Woodcross Resources expects to introduce traceability to its tin operations in the first quarter of 2024.

Woodcross Resources has fully commissioned Uganda’s first tin smelter and will legally source and process tin concentrate to produce LME Grade A refined tin. In line with the OECD Due Diligence Guidelines and the RMI Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP), Woodcross Resources will implement its own due diligence system using Minespider’s blockchain-based platform and digital product passport, as well as third-party verification.

Minespider enable Woodcross to collect and communicate critical supply chain data

Minespider will enable Woodcross Resources to collect and communicate critical supply chain data about its tin, such as: Pedigree data and due diligence risk assessments, while providing the flexibility to adapt to various regulatory requirements in a traceable, secure and immutable manner . The Minespider platform will be integrated into Woodcross Resources’ internal resource planning systems and provide transparency into Woodcross Resources’ mineral procurement activities to regulators, offtake partners and other relevant stakeholders.
