Evolution Mining has appointed Nancy Guay as its new chief technical officer, taking effect from June 1.

In the role, Guay will be responsible for various technical functions such as studies, projects, long-term planning, and technical services.

Guay holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mining and Processing) and has more than 30 years’ experience in the mining sector, specifically having extensive technical and operational expertise.

Previously working in various roles in Australia and Canada, Guay was most recently Agnico Eagle Mines’ vice president – technology, optimisation, and innovation. In the role, she oversaw 12 operations globally, including the Fosterville gold mine in Victoria.

“This appointment marks a milestone in my career, and I am honoured and excited about this opportunity to join the Evolution team,” Guay said.

“I am looking forward to working with the teams to make a contribution that will create value for the company.”

Evolution Mining managing director and chief executive officer Lawrie Conway welcomes Guay to the company.

“I am delighted that Nancy has agreed to join Evolution as our chief technical officer,” he said.

“Nancy has extensive technical and operational experience in the mining sector for over 30 years. She will be a great addition to Evolution and our leadership team. We look forward to her joining us.”

Evolution recently declared its 22nd consecutive dividend in its 2023–24 half-year financial report.
